EITC Awareness Day is a one-day blitz - in mainstream and social media -to reach the broadest possible range of potentially-eligible taxpayers, including taxpayer segments we believe under claim EITC and newly eligible taxpayers
IRS estimates four of five eligible taxpayers claim and get their EITC. You can help increase those numbers. See more of our Key Messages for 2012.
EITC is a financial boost for working people in a recovering economy. EITC can put up to $5,751 into the pockets of eligible taxpayers (even more if they live in a state with a similar state credit). This is money taxpayers can use to make their lives a little easier now or money they can put away for a rainy day. With a simple check of a box, taxpayers can convert their income tax refunds into I Savings .
But, taxpayers must file and claim the credit to receive it. And, that all begins with awareness of EITC.
